Unearthed
I have been published in the Review of Australian Fiction! Excitement!
The RAF is an online journal launched this year by two Bris Vegans, Matt Lamb (now in Tassie) and Phil Crowley. They pair one established author with one emerging author in a mentoring arrangement, and publish a story by both authors in each issue.
My story, 'Unearthed', is about a somewhat belligerent young deaf woman who works as an itinerant farmer. I've been paired with witty and quirky Elizabeth Stead, niece of the wonderful Australian author Christina Stead.
A copy of the issue will only set you back $2.99 (for both stories), and you get to enjoy a bit of bush gothic with your morning cuppa. Better still, you can subscribe for $12.99 and sample a wide range of Australian literature - there's something new every fortnight. I also get royalties for this story, and as I'm staring down the barrel of destitution while I write my 3rd novel next year, any spare income will keep me off the streets.
